A Father's Love
ABOUT THE CREATION: In creating this painting, I used a few of my own photos from Guhagar, India. Guhagar (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guhagar) is a sleepy little fishing hamlet on the Western coast of India. It is known for its pristine beaches and warm, sunny weather and incredible sea food. It is also famous for the world renowned – Alphonso mangoes. It is untouched by modern life and still retains its old-world charm. I originally began this work as a study – loose on detail, while ensuring I can capture the overall atmosphere of the location. I then planned to make it a larger painting based on this study, heavily emphasizing detail. It is just after noon and the day is bright, the tide is low & the sand is warm. A mother and her child explore a calm beach. He is curious about this world he has been born into. He enjoys his first sensations of warm sand between his little toes, the little ripples of water that break near his feet, the smell of fish and salt spray in the air. He wishes to go splash around in the sea and the waves further beyond, but she is ever protective of him and will never let him out of her sight. He can explore the waves with his father and when the day is cooler. This beach is untouched and it is only them and the footprints they leave behind. ABOUT THE SALE: My patron, Mr Anton Anatolevich, had previously purchased my maiden NFT – “HODL ON”. He appreciated my work and took a look at some of the other works by me. This painting reminded him of his beautiful, expectant wife. His family will soon grow larger and he wishes to present the actual painting to her as a gift. At the time of this sale, Mr. Anton resides in Murmansk, Russia- one of the hardest and toughest places in the world. The environment will definitely challenge any fine art painting. But just like a father and a husband’s love for his family, this painting too will last the test of time. It has been executed on Aluminium and preserved in art grade epoxy. This should ensure cold winters and summers will have no effect on its beauty and just like his love, it will last centuries. For any artist, their first sale and first patron are always momentous occasions. To have my work displayed at a home (Murmansk) so far from where I live is an opportunity that any artist gets very rarely. In Indian culture, we must not demand prices from such patrons as they are the equivalent of the goddess of wealth – “Lakshmi”. They hold a special place in your heart & I was honoured that Mr. Anton chose my work to present to his family ABOUT THE PAINTER: My name is Vaibhav Ganesh. I am an engineer and a hobby painter.
